Growth Mindset vs Fixed Mindset
Having a growth mindset is the idea that learning is about effort and the process. There are many important details about growth mindsets; one important detail about growth mindsets is how it originated. Growth mindsets originated when Carol Dweck saw that when some kids were struggling they kept on thinking, but when the kids who they thought were smart and could solve the problems weren’t able to, they would just give up. In the article called “Growth Mindset: Clearing up Some Common Confusions,” the author states that growth mindsets “leads people to take on challenges, persevere in the face of setbacks, and become more effective learners.” It is important to know about growth mindset because you can do bigger things like getting better grades and getting better test scores rather than doing the same and never developing further.
Having a growth mindset is the idea that if you make a mistake you learn from that and keep on going. However, if you have a fixed mindset, you have a mind that if you don't know a problem, you just give up. For our artifact, we have growth mindset as a red wood trees that will keep on growing. For a fixed mindset ,you have a lock that shows that you will never learn ,unless you decide to switch from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset which then the changing would be like opening the lock. Our artifact connects to details because when a plant is growing, you can see that it is growing and that is the same as a mind that keeps on learning. For our imperative, that also connects to our artifact because if Carol Dweck never thought about having a growth mindset idea, we would have probably never would have thought about it or we would have made a different claim about growth mindset.
Summary: Making this project helped me realize that I need to face my challenges. I can't just look at it and try to skip them. I need to use my knowledge,
and if it is something I don't know I will use that time to learn something new. I also learned that I need to be more collaborative while working on projects. If I have an idea I need to share it with my partners and not just stay quiet.

F.I.N.D. Reflection :
F - Fact - One fact about "The Crucible" is that it relates to the Salem witch trials that took place in the Salem, Massachusetts during 1692-1693.
I - Internal Connection - While reading/learning about "The Crucible" I felt that in this play survival was everything. People had to accuse their friends or family and falsely confess in order for them not to be hung/killed
N - New Idea - A new idea that learned while reading "The Crucible" is that people will literally do anything to live and not be killed
D - Decision - A decision that I will make base on my reading and understanding of "The Crucible" is to not lie to get out of something but tell the truth even if others don't believe me.

October Reflection-
I feel that I need to try harder in terms of reaching my academic goals. I am basically reading whatever I can read. I participate at times. A strength I have in this class is collaborating with others and a weakness is when it comes to explaining things. I feel confident as a writer. What is hard for me is to memorize things but what is easy for me is to collaborate. I don't know what I would like to work on this month but hopefully it is something new.

The cost of freedom insists of having to follow rules and laws. Benefits of freedom include having the freedom of speech, religion, press and assembly. The cost of conflict attempts to calculate the price of conflict to the human race. Conflict can affect the human race in multiple ways. Benefits of conflict affect relationships and organizations. Conflict is not always negative, they have a cause and affect relationship. The only relationship that conflict and freedom has is that they can lead to both chaos and peace. If there isn’t enough chaos about conflict, the government may not have "business".
